General Rules 

1. Owner Responsibility

   • All dogs must be under the full control and supervision of their owners at all times.

   • Owners are fully responsible for their dog’s behavior, safety, and clean-up.

2. Dog Eligibility

   • Only well-socialized dogs that are non-aggressive and up-to-date on vaccinations may participate.

   • No dogs in heat or with contagious conditions are allowed.

3. Supervision & Control

   • Dogs must be leashed when not actively swimming.

   • One handler per dog is recommended for control and safety.

4. Clean-Up Policy

   • Owners must pick up and dispose of dog waste immediately. Bags and bins are provided.

   • Dogs should be towel-dried before leaving the swim area.

Dog Wash-Off Station (Hose Point)

To protect all participants and local wildlife from the spread of bacteria, parasites, and invasive species, a designated dog hose point is available at the entrance/exit of the swim area. Use is mandatory for all dogs:

• Before Entering the Lake:
  Rinse your dog thoroughly to remove any dirt, debris, or contaminants. This reduces the risk of introducing harmful substances into the water.

• After Swimming:
  Use the hose to rinse your dog again to wash off lake water, bacteria, or algae. This helps prevent the spread of waterborne illnesses or environmental contaminants to other locations.

• Staff or volunteers will be on-site to help guide use of the hose area if needed.

• Bring your own towel for drying off after rinsing.

Wildlife & Environmental Protection

1. Respect Local Wildlife

   • Dogs must not chase, disturb, or harm any animals, including birds, turtles, or fish.

   • Any incidents may result in removal from the event.

   • PLEASE NOTE: Please do NOT book on a session if you have recently treated your dog with spot on flea treatment as this can be harmful to wildlife in the water. Thank you!

2. Stay in Designated Zones

   • Enter and exit the lake only through the marked dog swim area.

   • Keep dogs out of vegetated or protected shoreline zones.

3. Do Not Feed Wildlife

   • Feeding or baiting wildlife is strictly prohibited.

Safety & Conduct

1. Swim at Your Own Risk

   • No lifeguards are on duty. Owners must ensure their dogs are safe and confident swimmers.

   • Remove dogs immediately if signs of fatigue or distress appear.

2. Aggressive Behavior

   • Dogs showing aggression toward other dogs, people, or wildlife must leave the area.

3. Emergency Info

   • A first aid station is available for both dogs and humans. Follow all staff directions in an emergency.

By Participating, You Agree To:

• Take full responsibility for your dog’s actions and safety.

• Use the wash-off hose point before and after swimming.

• Comply with staff instructions and posted signage.

• Show respect for other dogs, people, and wildlife.
