Andark Lake is open for Open Water Swimmimg on the following days and times.  SCUBA DIVING now has allocated time sessions on a Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

These are just for open water swimming sessions for swimmers with openwater experience, and there is no Lifeguard.

Our Staff might have to  Carry Out Diving Safety Work at sometimes.

Each session has 10-11 spaces available. Swimmers we enter from alternate ends. I.e. the first group goes in at Entrance ZONE A and then the second goes in at Entrance ZONE B.

Wednesday 19th & 26th August, 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th September :-  2 sessions @ 8.15-9.00am & 9.00 09.45am

Thursday’s  20th, 27th August, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th September :- for sessions from 8.30am ¾ hour slots until 13.15

Friday’s  21st, 28th August,  4th, 11th, 18th, 25th September :- for ¾ hour slots from 9.30am to 17.00

Saturday’s 15th, 22nd & 28th August, 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th September :- ¾ hour slots starting at 7.45 am  to 10.45  then afternoon from 3.30pm to 17.00pm

Sunday’s  16th, 23rd, 30th August, 6th , 13th, 20th, 27th September :- mornings 2 sessions 3/4  hour  08.30 & 9.15am

Each week we are opening Wednesday, Thursday, Friday,  Saturday  & Sunday with the above time slots.

  2. this will take you to a softwear called Mindbody and a login page – DO NOT CREATE an account if you have been to us before as you already have one, it will recognise youby the name you gave us and your email address, you will need to create a password if not used online booking before.
  3.  then go to Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday and choose a time slot, it might ask you to select client ID which case put in your name or hopefully it will recognise who you are.

Swimmers will also be able to Facebook message us if having difficulty booking on with App

by contactless or exact cash on the day.  If you have a block ticket it will just register as a swim when we confirm arrival on site.

The Sessions will be ¾ hour time slots as timings above and limiting to 10-11 persons per time slot at present. Arrive 10 minutes

before your start time and leave 15 minutes after. Parking is in main Andark Car Park behind the pool and then short walk up the Lane.

The changing rooms will not be open, but the outside loo will be (to be used at own risk but with

anti-bacterial spray available), so swimmers need to come ready or just be happy to change outside.

Wednesday 9-9.45am

Thursday 8.30am – 2pm

Friday 10.15am – 5pm

Saturday 7.45am – 10.45am & afternoons 15.30 -17.00
Sunday  08.30am – 10.00am

The lake is open for swimmers for open water swimming and triathlon training. It is recommended you wear a wetsuit & hat while swimming in the lake in colder months.

The size of the lake is twice as the size of an Olympic size swimming pool. With Beach type entry or pontoon entry allowing lengths from side to side.

Changing facilities  NOT OPEN AT PRESENT RE ‘COVID 19’

Male and Female changing facilities with free hot showers and lockers in new purpose built pavilion. Changing Rooms are closed at present for swimmers and divers due to Social Distance

for ‘Covid 19’ , so swimmers should come ready to swim and expect beach type changing.  There is a Male/Female & disabled toilet open.

Parking

Individual swimmers must please park in the lower car park (at the back of Andark), this is approximately a 300m walk, follow signs up the lane. Please parents do not drop off your children at the Lake.   Disabled Parking is available on site, please notify us if require assistance.

Food and Catering

Small cafe in reception area offers hot and cold drinks, soup and simple snacks, pizza, jacket potatoes, bacon rolls etc.

Water Quality

The water is tested regularly and the lake is filled up by its own bore hole.
